Alaska's World Famous Trophy Trout Stream -
Moraine Creek |
| |
The Moraine is home to some of Alaska's really big 'bows you could
say this "IS" where the real trophy rainbow's hang out and you would in
no way be misleading anyone. While not long in length the Moraine makes
up for it's size in the sheer numbers of very large wild ALASKA RAINBOWS
available, you are going to enjoy this trip with Alaska Rainbow
Adventures, upgraded for 2009 to one of our Deluxe Lodge quality trips
with some of the most comfortable accommodations and best food found
anywhere on a Alaskan fishing float trip.
Moraine Creek is also among the best locations to view,
photograph and admire Alaska's Magnificent Brown Bear in their natural
habitat, in fact many folks actually travel to Alaska and Moraine Creek
for the Bear Viewing and Photography opportunities. That said Moraine
Creek also is a "World Class" Fly Fishing destination for anglers
looking to catch what could be a 30"+ and over ten pound rainbow trout
what for many is that once in a lifetime fish. It is no wonder
that the best Alaska bear viewing of the year co-insides with the best
fishing as in some years over two million sockeye salmon can return to
the watershed that Moraine Creek is a part of. This remarkable influx of
high protein, fat rich salmon is why Alaska's Brown Bears are here as
this is the perfect food source that the bears need to pack on the many
pounds necessary to make it through an Alaskan winter, and the same
goes for the Alaska's wild rainbows as they grow to World Class trophy
size while gorging themselves on salmon roe. Come fish the moraine with
us at Alaska Rainbow Adventures, you won't be disappointed!.
August
brings spawning sockeye salmon to Moraine Creek and the
streams that feed the lakes of the Bristol Bay region and right behind
the sockeye you find huge rainbow trout. One of the most famous of these
streams is Moraine creek.

For the most part you could say the Moraine is located in an area that
is true wilderness and where you are not likely to see another person.
This however changes when the sockeye salmon arrive to spawn and huge
rainbow trout follow right behind to feed on their eggs. It is this time
when anglers from around the world visit the Moraine in search of big
rainbows. The Moraine becomes a busy place by Alaska standards so if you
were looking to get away from other people this is definitely not the
time. It is however where you could quite possibly see and catch the
largest rainbow trout of your life!
The Moraine might be one of Alaska's best fly out
fishing experiences, and yes you will fly out with us to be there, and
be there you will!
There are benefits to being on the Moraine 24 hours per day in mid
August - mid September, one is unlimited fishing time no 'back to
the lodge' just when the fishing gets 'hot' and you
generally will have first access to the best holes
before the lodges show up for the day, as long as you get up early and
take advantage of being there. You can also expect by floating
this wonderful Alaskan stream to fish water that those flying in will
not spend the time or effort to get to. You can however expect to see
lots of non human fishers as bears are very plentiful at this time of
the year. Best Dates Mid August to Mid September. It's time for
you to come challenge the Moraine and potentially 30" plus rainbows -
