When To Fish Alaska

When To Fish Alaska - Spring Alaska Rainbow TroutOpening day in the Bristol Bay watersheds begins June 8th each year when these waters open to fishing for rainbow trout such as the 'bows of spring' pictured on this page. A few other watersheds open up earlier such as the Togiak where rainbow trout angling is available all spring or on other waters for species such as salmon, this usually applies to our 1/2, full and 2 day trips closer to Anchorage.

Alagnak River Rainbow Trout Alaska Float Trip Other areas such as in Northwest Alaska might not find us on the water until late June due to run timing for salmon or historically better fishing once the waters warm up from the spring thaw. Whatever the river we offer our day and float trips on a variety of dates through late September on into mid October in some cases. In order to find out when 'you' should be here, we suggest that you give us a call and discuss your groups desires in an Alaska fishing trip. This way we can then go over the many factors that make up a successful Alaska experience and find you the right trip on the right river at the right time to fit your groups expectations. The call of course is free so pick up the phone and dial 1-877-235-2647 operators are standing by! Ok maybe not an operator, more likely you will get Paul the owner and while he will field your calls at 3 am it might be best to wait until he gets that first cup of coffee in the morning or just leave a message on the machine and follow up with an email containing your name and phone number and he will return your call. For those of you on the east coast call just before or anytime after lunch as we are four hours earlier in the day up here in Alaska, We look forward to talking with you soon!

** Check back we will be adding run timing charts in the next week **
